How to Request Indexing in Google Search Console

Step 1: Open Google Search Console

  • Go to Google Search Console

  • Select your website property

Step 2: Use the URL Inspection Tool

  • At the top search bar, paste the exact URL you want indexed
    (example: https://yourwebsite.com/page-url)

  • Press Enter

Step 3: Check URL Status

Google will show one of these:

  • URL is on Google

  • URL is not on Google

  • URL is indexed but has issues

Step 4: Click “Request Indexing”

  • If the page is not indexed, click Request Indexing

  • Google will test:

    • Page accessibility

    • Mobile usability

    • Indexing eligibility

Step 5: Wait for Confirmation

  • You’ll see a message:
    “Indexing requested”

  • Indexing may take a few hours to a few days

Requesting does not guarantee instant indexing.

Request Indexing for Updated Pages

If you updated existing content:

  1. Inspect the URL again

  2. Click Request Indexing

  3. Google re-crawls the page
